No Annual Fees For BOC-3's

We heard one of our customers this week were getting misled by another company. This other company was wanting to charge them an annual fee for their BOC-3 filing of $159. (For those of you wondering what a BOC-3 is, it is the list of agents that you are required to file with the FMCSA so that your company can be served legal documents in that state if needed.) This is wrong on three points!

The first being that we had set up their BOC-3 for them a few years back. Yet this company insisted to them that they needed their service to keep their authority active.

The second is the fee for the BOC-3 was ridiculous! $159? The BOC-3s that we file for our customers are only $50!

The third is that they were being charged an ANNUAL fee. For what? Our BOC-3s have a one time filing fee. The only exception to this is if you change your company's name or address, then it needs to be re-filed. But for what our customer was being charged by this unscrupulous company, they could have done that three times every year and been $9 ahead.

There are plenty of companies out there who won't give you the whole story, so always take a few minutes to check things out and deal with someone you trust. After all, it's your money....until you give it to them.
